The Bee Sting

Speaking of long books… are long books a status symbol? Is reading long books a status symbol for readers as well as authors? This is book is longggg. It’s 650 pages but it’s very good. It surely could have been told in 400 pages but I was feeling a bit fatigued with reading several long books back to back.

Bee sting was funny and sad as we follow the family of Dickie Barnes through all sorts of trouble - we learn the back story of each of the four family members while then seeing the ongoing financial crash crippling the family business through each of their eyes.

Great book but you need to invest the time. I was definitely ready for some shorter books by the time I got through this.
